When I walked into Bridge Books, I fell inlove, forever. Located on Jozi's famed Commissioner street, the place filled me with the realisation that the city is thriving. Jhb was and always will be the city that iconifies South Africa in the same light as the streets of London & New York.

The owner Griffith Shea, promotes African titles, new and second hand books and is passionate about the city. His story froms selling books in a suitcase to opening this landmark in downtown JHB, is a tale of its own.

I feel strongly that this venue totally aligns with my vision to help preserve our wildlife.

Bridge Books is at 85 Commissioner Street, between Harrison and Loveday Streets, right across from the Library Gardens Rea Vaya station.  It is around the corner from the JHB Library. If you’re arriving down Harrison and turn right onto Commissioner, both sides of the street are used for parking during events and there’s 24-hour security at Corner House, at 77 Commissioner.
